In the story about the helpful California mom one fact was apparently omitted. The Polk County Sheriff's Department had a hold on the defendant the whole time he was in a Georgia prison. He was extradited back after serving his time in Georgia.
The mom in the case was very helpful, but I don't want to infer that anyone in the Sheriff's Department dropped the ball. They did not!
